    Hi Folks,

Ive had a problem recently with my Eircom Broadband. Heres the lowdown.

Im on the Eircom 3mb pack, and have been for about 3 years now without any major problems! But about 3 months ago my broadband went dead one day, turned out to be the router (crappy netopia thing) so i got a WAG300N.

Since then tho it drops at random times, sometimes it could be fine for hours and then others it could drop every 30 mins; Its getting pretty annoying at this stage, ive looked around for some answers but still havnt found anything.

Ive attached a screenshot of the router config, anyone able to tell me if thats correct or have i made a mess of it ?

I would change one setting on it to "Connect on Demand" and set max idle to 0.

Shouldn't it be max idle time 99 instead of zero, since it's the amount of time before it drops an idle connection?

if ya can set it to always on do, i had that prob before with eircom and i'm not sure but settin the max idle at zero might be an infinite time, worth a try

Whats going on there? The MTU should be set at 1492 should it not?

Aye. Can be 1500 for PPPoA alright but 1492 for PPPoE.

I wait to be corrected though:), but thats always been my understanding of it.

Faulty modem or filter is also a possibility.
