Hi, just had a solar system installed and was wondering if the pumping station be left running continuously or turned off during the evening/night hours??

Not sure how they are actually controlled but they should be controlled as:

When liquid/glycol in Solar collectors falls below the temp of the water in the cylinder, the pump should stop pumping because it is no longer contributing to the system..

The pump station should have a built-in controller that controls when the pump runs or not. The pump station/controller should be constantly powered, never plugged out or switched off. It really takes negligible power when the pump isn't running.

If your pump is running constantly, then you may have a problem with the setup of your controller.
