One of my favorite cars has been re-mixed (504 Coupe)...

One of my favorite cars has been re-mixed and I'm not happy! Not because of a fear that it won't do the old car justice but because it draws attention to a car almost nobody knows about or writes about, even in classic car mags

This means the old model will gain a higher profile with correspondingly higher values and my secret plan to make a bid for this hitherto forgotten old beauty sometime in 2010 will come to nought!:

    The old: http://www.carzone.ie/used-cars/Other/Other/Peugeot-504/963117

    The new: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/224271/peugeot_504.html

It was always a handy one to pull out of the bag when discussion turned to favorite classic/most elegant etc. and the usual suspects of Mustang, DS etc. were repeated ad nauseum:D...

I actually still have the 504Ti saloon on my list of 'must own one day' cars.

Almost bought one as my first car! Got a Mercedes Benz W115 200 instead.

you should include '504' in the thread name!

I agree with you - great car!! Looks like we aren't the only ones who thinks so:

Don't suppose anyone has 2,975,800.00 NGN burning a whole in their pocket?!

I might next week as I got a lovely e-mail from a former Nigerian Senator promising to give me a lot of dosh if I help him get $50M out of the country....I'll play hardball and tell him I'll do it if he throws in a 504 2.0L with a 4 speed box. :D:D

Yahoo finance is telling me that is approx €16,000. Wonder what CO2 band it falls in? Z??:D

I'm going to be well impressed if it ends up similar to the sketch

Yeh, in that sketch it looks even better than the A5.

Still as good as the old one is, I'd still prefer a Fiat 130 Coupe.

I really hate all this recent crap of design a new car and stick the name of an old model that everyone loved on it despite the fact it looks nothing like it.
It's a lovely looking car no doubt but why not just make up a new name?

Down with this sort of thing.

Pity companies cant just remake originals exactly as they were before. I'd love a chance to buy a brand new Capri. :)
