any one know if we can go to wales via ferry without the youngest kids passport ? the quickest way to get a passport is 10 days , were hoping to go on the 14th July . would a birth cert do ? both parents and brother have valid passports , don't want to leave him behind with nanny , any ideas .helpful comments welcome .:)

Probably better off in the Travel forum. But if you go to the passport office with your tickets and all the required documentation they can fast track it and you can have it back in a day.. I got mine in 4 hours before.. just ring and check

Moved from Politics/EU to Travel & Holidays.

Are you sure you even need photo ID for ferry travel to wales?

I have done the crossing many times and never needed to show any ID on the outward journey. I have been asked for one a few times on the inward journey though.
