If you are unemployed (or recently out of college) you should go for Unemployment Assistance. Benefit only applies to people who have been currently made redundant and are looking for a way back to work as opportunities make themselves available. Hope I helped.

I'm not too sure either. But as regard to evidence of looking for work, surely you know someone who can give you a small note on headed paper saying you asked them for a job and they haven't any vacancies.

You will have to have proof that you are actively seeking full time employment. You should keep evidence, like copies of letters/emails of applications and responses from potential employers. In some Social Welfare offices these are strictly checked - it all depends on the Deciding Officer who looks after your claim. But if you keep all documentation you should have no problems.

And you don't apply for either, as such.

When you sign on they will take your work history and check your stamps to see which one you qualify for.

That is Social Welfare Fraud and not what this forum is about, thank you very much.
