After much research and reading up I went ahead and bought the Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 D ED. Just wonderin if anyone here has any experience of this lens or if you own it. What do you think of it? Paid 670 for it so i'm hoping its as good as my research tells me it is!

Certainly hope so. Like I said, from what I read it should be decent but you know yourself, you never know till you get your hands on it and try it out.

Haha assumed you were waiting for it :pac:
Though you might be looking forward to it and can't wait so you decided to hear what other people think

I'm "sidegrading" from an 18-200 that I'm not sure is for me. To be honest the 18-200 I have is a great lens, but I'm trying to move to full frame 2.8 glass at the moment.

Bokeh looks quite nice on the 80-200.

Conkeroo, super lens, you will have much fun with that. Very crisp, no distortion or obvious problems with it at all. Mine is an old Mk1 Push Pull version but Im hoping to pick up a newer version soon.
    Enjoy it,
    Alan

Ive read some good reviews of the 18-200 and considered it but I decided to go with the 2.8 for what I want to do. I think it'll last me.

YOu haven't made a mistake, it''s a great lens, sharp and fast.

Just ensure you get a lens hood as it does not come with one.
