Wasn't called for interview

I work in a large company and recently applied for a position that was advertised internally. I haven't heard anything back except for confirmation that my application was received. It's been a few weeks since I applied and I think at this stage that the position has more than likely been filled.

If this is the case, I'd be very interested to know why I wasn't at least called for an interview. Am I right in thinking that I'm entitled to ask how a shortlist for interview was drawn up? I find it very annoying to get no feedback whatsoever!

they will probably just advise you recruited internally....but you could ask the question

Ask your direct manager to go to the Recruitment dept. to find out what has happened with the posting. There may be a delay and this wasn't communicated to the applicants. Whatever the reason get them to chase it up for you.
