This my be a better deal for you. It'll come to under 800e delivered. As wellas that, there is blatant false advertising on that link to peats. It says "1090p" under the features when what it really probably has is 1080p input, which is completely different. To the best of my knowledge Panasonic have never made a full HD 37" plasma.Oh and another thing, i think that peats model is last years model but pixmanias one is this years model.

Im in the same Boat. Trying to decide whats best. this might be another option http://www.allianceelectric.ie/products/tv/plasmalcd/th37pv80.htm

    37" HD Ready Plasma Television

Up to 100,000 hours panel life
    15000:1 contrast ratio
    VReal 3 Engine
    100Hz Double Speed
    24p Input
    Viera Link
    SD Card for JPEG viewing
    V-Audio (with Bass Boost)

    3 X HDMI, 2 X SCART, PC Input

€100 + €30 delivery more expensive than what you were going to pay in peats but it has an sd card reader higher contrast ratio , 5 year warranty and your buying it in a bricks and mortor shop instead of online

    Thaks for the links lads.

I had decided not to go pixmania because I need this TV before the end of next week, and I've never dealt with them before - re. warranty issues, etc.

    dabs.ie don't do TVs?

Thanks for the Alliance link - gonna call into them tomorrow. I don't mind too much about the cost (within reason!), I'm just looking for a 37" TV with good image quality.

I'm upgrading from a CRT but a lot of LCD TVs I've seen in PCworld and the like seem to have really bad image quality with fast moving images - like a football match or whatever - a lot of bluriness.

Fair enough.Peoples opinions are fairly divided on pixmania alright.Alliance electric have an excellent reputation on boards, tho.I'd say haggle and youd get it fot less, 950e is the most i'd pay.I know theres a 5 year warranty but panasonics generally dont give trouble and, with richer sounds in belfast, you could get a 42" Full HD panasonic plasma for about 1250e, i believe.Actually, you could try them(Richersounds.ie).Check out the "Bargain Alerts" forum where they have thier own thread at the moment. The manager is even a member. and posting on it.You could PM him and i'd say he'd beat that alliance price incl delivery. He's doing a special half price delivery rate for boards members

dont go for the panasonics with single digit model numbers. eg, PX8, PV8, PY8, PV7.. go the extra money for the model with the zero eg PX80, PV80, PY80, PV70.

the current models are the 8 series, the original TV in the link (th37pv70) is an older model. still a nice TV, but the new one has more features for a lil bit more money.
