Okay, a slightly random post but I was watching a youtube clip of Kaoklai Kaennorsing fighting Hong Man Choi from a few years ago it's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey0UVew1xNc)

Given the size differential between the two it got me thinking about silly, bizarre or just plain interesting match-ups in the various worlds of martial arts. Like what would happen if Choi fought someone similarly lanky like Tim Sylvia?

Now I know that that fight would likely never happen given their differing styles (that's AFAIK but I'm open to correction) but for the sake of bar room chit-chat what match-ups would anyone else fancy seeing?

(Also, for further inspiration, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8ye4mYR878)

I especially loved the fact that he kept going for Choi's head too. Really great, gutsy performance. Does he still fight? What has he been doing lately?

He was robbed in that fight vs Choi....the K1 judges hate the Thai...Choi only won that fight because K1 were trying to promote the sport in Korea..look at the fight he scored way more strikes which is what K1 is based on..The same almost happened with Buakaw when he fought masato in the final a couple of years back..Buakaw murdered him and the judges gave it an extra round..the look on masatos face he couldnt believe they wanted him to fight another round..Buakaw won it and masato had to go straight to hospital because he was pissing blood from the knees Buakaw was hitting him with...the judges were suspended after that happened!!

Hong Man Choi could fight Tim Sylvia, Choi's had a couple of MMA fights. One against a 40 year old comedian and the other against Fedor. But he's doing mandatory army service now and won't be fighting for at least another year I think

I'd love to see Kimbo Slice vs Shinya Aoki. The hugely popular big brawler against the skinny submission specialist. And to put another slant on it, Kimbo's a former street fighter and Aoki a former policeman :)

In that line Fozzy what would you think of Cro Cop fighting Kimbo?

How about Kimbo and Brock Lesnar?

Cro Cop I think would destroy Kimbo. I just prefer the visual of a guy Aoki's size tapping out Kimbo!

Weird thing about Kaoklai is that he does really well against much bigger guys but seems to have major problems fighting guys his own weight. He been beaten quite a few times in the fairly recent past including a bad KO to Tyrone Sprong of Holland at Slamm. Was actually supposed to go to that show but hope to next year, its quite a bill with usually the very best Thais fighting Europeans ie Anuwat, Baukow etc.

How does Kaoklai rate when compared to Buakaw and Yodsenclai? Is he at that level?

Yodi and Buakaw would be likely at 72 or so...and a good fight...Kaoklai fights around 78kg I think.
