Coincidences

Does anyone else have these weird coincidental things happen during their day? You might think 'what the ****' is he on about but stuff like this happens to me all the time that makes me think 'that's a bit strange-what are the odds of that happening?'
Yesterday I just happened to click on a link someone posted on boards about the actor Don Davis who had died. Now I had no idea who he was; just curious so I clicked the link. I did recognise him though as he's been in films and Tv shows. Last night I got out a boxset of X-Files season 1 that I started watching months ago. I couldn't remember what episode I stopped at so stuck in a disc and started the episode to see did I recognise it. And who's in the opening scene only Don Davis playing Scully's father. A few minutes into the episode his character dies. Like what are the odds of that happening? Especially given he died and his character in the episode I happen to see also dies? Anyone else find that strange or is it just me?

The first time I heard the word "coincidence" I kept hearing it everywhere that day.

I was watching TV and there was an ad where someone opened their fridge and there was beer inside. Few mins later I stroll into the kitchen and open my fridge and

Pighead has had exactly 1000 headaches whilst reading boards since last August.

Coincidence? Maybe, but Pigheads not so sure.

I get that all the time too. If I hear a word for the first time I'm guaranteed to hear it a dozen times in the next week.

Yeh! I met an old mate one day and he said 'What up tubby?'. I looked in the mirror and holy shit! I might not play sports but i sport a fine belly.

Similar thing happened with my girlfriend and another large body part but i won't get into that.

Shit actually. Is that another coincidence?

Woke up the morning of English Paper 1 and I had lost my identity card. They say you need it just in case. Anyways I found it in a pair of jeans. Sat the paper and written on the front of the paper was the theme: Identity.

I have the complete opposite problem. When I think about random people or things they almost never crop up later on that day. For example, on Saturday I randomly thought about an old schoolfriend of mine who moved to Oz about 5 years ago and I haven't heard from for ages. Amazingly, he didn't ring me later on that day, nor has he contacted me since. And this kind of stuff happens to me all the time. I must not have whatever magical property that makes strange things happen.

I was waiting to get an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed in hospital & on Monday I was checking the holiday board in work thinking that the week of the 8th August would be an ok time to have sick leave as nobody else was off & it also fit in with my holidays too, and low and behold...............the following morning I got a letter in the post saying my appointment was the 8th August...............

    interesting eh?

Now just to mention, I've been waiting about a year for the appointment on the public list!

A few days ago, I suddenly thought of an old friend I hadn't spoken, heard from or thought about for about 4 years. I just suddenly remembered his full name and thought, "I should see if he's on facebook." So I did and he was, and I sent him a friend request. A few hours later he accepted my request, and as I was looking at his page, I realized that he had just joined facebook the night before. And a few minutes later, I got a message from him stating the same - that he had just joined not 24 hours ago, and what a coincidence it was that I thought of him.
    Very strange.
He probably thinks I'm stalking him. :pac:

In May I was looking forward to going to see Bruce Springsteen in Dublin, a couple of the nights before the concert I had a wierd dream where he walked past me wearing a strangely designed black and white cowboy hat, not something at all associated with him (as far as I am aware). As it happens on the Sunday night there he was with a zebra-skin styled black and white cowboy hat, I found that pretty wierd.

Years ago now, I was a junior engineer on an oil tanker that was loading oil from pipes in the desert up the Shatt El Arab in Iran. Someone told me that somewhere up river there was a shack with an arab and a fridge that sold cold beers (don't ask how he could be selling beer in a fundamentalist Moslem country -- I never worked that out either, but the Arabs are pragmatists), so being an inquisitive type I took a couple of hours shore leave to go look. I found the place eventually -- a tin hut with an old American fridge filled with Bud. I had just bought one when someone said "Jasus, what are you doing here?" I turned around and it was my best mate from college who I hadn't heard of in years. Turned out that he was a JE on a ship behind us, when I thought he had become a draughtsman or something. That's some coincidence:D

Jessica Fletcher was involved in way too many coincidences for my liking. She may have gotten away with it, but this guy didn't

She's probably laughing at us from her mansion in Cabot Cove as we speak....

like waking up at 6:34 am exactly for the past three mornings (and no the alarm didnt go off).

Ya i've had a few of those instances in my time!
The one I remember most vividly was about 8 years or so ago, and I was walking home from school. I noticed that a lot of very nice cars were passing by and for some reason I just thought to myself that I could not remember the last time I saw a Lada!! It must have been at least a year or two.
About 20 seconds later, what rolls past me? A horrible brown Lada!!!!

I was freaked!!!! I actually stopped walking and said to myself "WTF?!"!

Theres a few more ill think of! :pac:

Yeh OP thats a good one.

The last couple of days in work I have randomly mentioned a customer to a colleague and the customer has walked in. 3 times its happened this week. Kinda freaking me out a bit...

The third time it happened I started pissing myself laughing and couldn't stop, the poor guy didn't know what was going on.

I thought it was just me that happens to! I open my eyes, look at the alarm and wait - and it goes off within seconds:confused:.

well this didn't happen to me but an old school friend. his dad is like a business advisor: he goes to different workplaces, reviews them and tells them where they are losing money, how they can improve etc. anyway, he's in town one day on his way to one of these business advisory meetings, and he's at the traffic lights on the quays and he looks out of his window, and notices this guy walking around, looking a bit spaced. after a couple of minutes this guy suddenly jumps up onto the barrier on the river edge and jumps into the liffey. so the business guy gets out of the car looking for him. can't see so he rings the guards. guards show up, they have lads in the boats looking for him and they thank the business guy for sticking around and ringing them. a couple of days later they get in contact with him and tell him they've found the body, identified him, and also that he's had a history of mental illness and was heavily medicated and just couldn't cope anymore. so a few months later the business guy is walking around dublin when he runs into the woman he was supposed to meet the day of the liffey accident. only then does he remember that he missed that meeting and apologizes for doing so. the woman said it was just as well, because that day her son drowned in the liffey.

quite often i go to call my girlfriend for whatever reason and i can't get through because she's currently ringing me

my dad played the organ in a church for years. The choir master was an awful pr!ck and my dad ended up leaving because of him. Out of the blue about two years later he decided he'd like to go to mass in the church that week. No particular reason, the fancy just took him. Turns out the choir master had died the previous week. Spoooooooky
