    Hi guys,
Trying to sort out an argument between myself and a mate here, we're booking a week in the sun and we can't decide on a destination. Basically it's five lads looking for plenty of drinking and sun and all the usual stuff like waterparks etc. minus the rough element or the STDs ala Santa Ponsa. I was thinking Bulgaria and the boys reckon it would be too tame. So maybe somewhere like Tenerife or..? If anybody's had a good experience with a spot let me know. Cheers.

Tenerife is worse than Santa Ponsa. Kinda the same as Gran Caneria. It does all depend on the age though and time of year your going. How about Ayia Napa?

Yeah I had Ayia Napa in the back of my head but I thought it might be a bit expensive in terms of food, booze, etc. I could be very wrong though, have you been over that far Dshell? A couple of friends of mine are just back from Crete and spent an awful lot of money. They said it was just as pricey as Ireland.

Yeah well it wouldn't be as cheap as Tenerife. After doing all the Canary Islands and spending 3 months in Santa Ponsa it is money well spent. It obviously depends where your eating out and things like that. You wouldn't necessarily have to watch your money but clubs etc would cost a bit. However the clubbing scene in Ayia Napa would be top class compared to any night club you'll get in Canarys. Maybe I just grew out of those places at an early age. I'm off to Asia for 7 wks now at the end of August and then off to Oz for a year so the Canarys no longer appeal to me. Probably fine for a group of lads though. Make sure you go at peak season as even though there is sun all year round they get quiet come September. Nightlife is messy as in lots of young people drunk and falling round the place so make sure accomodation is a 10 min walk from night clubs. Also most flights are at night for the Canarys unless you are very lucky. Only problem with that is trying to get to sleep and then get up for the flight. Hope you enjoy where ever you decide to go.

I gotta say hands down, Turkey. Back from Gumbet which has a fantastic night life (a whole long long street called Bar Street dedicated to nights out) Reasonably priced booze and a waterpark a bus ride away which is meant to be legend. You are guaranteed sunshine (which isnt always a given heading to Spain) and great scenery, lovely hotels, and it is that bit more exotic than your usual package holiday...you can head out on Boat trips (or the Booze Cruise) party all night and more...I would seriously check it out. When I was there two weeks ago there was a group of 6 lads who had returned for the thrid time saying they loved it...I booked with Budget...
