I've tried 3 of them: the two Brain Training games and Big Brain Academy. I spent most of my time on the first Brain Training and it's my favourite.

The second Brain Training was somewhat more of the same, but it didn't really grab me like the first.

Big Brain Academy is good, but it doesn't have the same sort of Maths based games that I liked from the first Brain Training. Lots of shape matching games etc.

Check out the reviews on Metacritic. If you type in "brain" it'll bring up all the other (crap) me-too games that tried to jump on the band wagon, which are best avoided IMO.

    Master of the Universe

Nuts to those brain training games, get Professor Layton and the curious village. Miles better :)

    For more specialised stuff, try

Professor Kageyama's Maths Training (does exactly what it says on the tin)
Scrabble (the AI will give you a good run for your money, and it has single cart download play)
    Wordjong (Really addictive word game)

o1s1n's suggestion is a great one though.... about 130 logic puzzles wrapped up in a fantastic interface and engaging story. Some puzzles you'll get in seconds, others will keep you scratching your head for hours (as long as you don't cheat!!)

If you can get your hands on a copy, you could also try Slitherlink. The best puzzler for the DS imo.
