New Channel launch!

    "A new sports betting channel is aiming to launch on digital satellite in the UK late this month, it has been confirmed.

    SportsXchange, carrying a mix of live and recorded news, statistics and analysis, will be part of the Sky satellite service in the UK and will also be carried by cable operator UPC in the Republic of Ireland.

    The channel today announced it had appointed Highflyer as its production partner, which will provide all content.

    Robin Bosworth, SportsXchange chief operating officer, said: "One in three people in the UK and Ireland bet on sports events either regularly or occasionally. SportsXchange is a new, totally unique channel for these people in a fast-moving and entertaining format.

    "In addition to our regular presenters, we aim to have the opinions and insights from a host of armchair analysts from the media and sports worlds."

    A spokesman said schedule details, presenters and EPG slots had yet to be confirmed."
    At least it shows that new channel ventures aimed at Ireland need a UPC. listing to be successful.
