12 Months in Dublin: Temp or stay on the very early shift?

I have a decently paid job which I'm happy in but for one part. The hours and roster. I haven't had a proper weekend in months, and I'm not on about drinking. Before, I was into my civil defence and army reserve training, but the job stopped all that. On four weekends out of six, I do not have a saturday or sunday morning off. Some freinds I haven't seen since Christmas.

I will be repeating three subjects in college over the next year, and I need to support myself while doing so. I'm considering temping, but I'm worried that the income wouldn't be as regular as the one I have now, which is decent enough and keeping me in the black, so far.

If I jack in my current job for temping for 12 months, would I be at a large risk of not having an income for a period of time?
