I've just booked a week in Costa Teguise in August for myself and my son, who is 5. Staying at the Hotetur Puerto Tahiche... Can not bloody wait! :D

Has anyone ever been? Any recommendations on excursions and stuff to keep the little dude entertained?

Some excursions stop off at the camel ride area.A couple of quid and you get to go on a camel for about 20 mins. Also the place that Cesar Manrique built a theatre hall out of volcanic rock also has a little rock pool with albino crabs, pretty cool - this same place has a volcano learning centre with loads of buttons to press and you will learn loads abour volcanoes obviously.beaches are nice and clean, water nice and warm.

Don't have kids sorry so maybe there are other things aswell and I'm completley useless to ya,hope you have a good holiday though

No kids either, but bitter experience tells me that taking children on the full tour of the island isn't very enjoyable for the kids, the parents or the others on the bus!

You could hire a car and head up to Timanfayna National Park and that's where the camel rides are. Head in a little further for better views over the volcanoes.

The theatre set up by Cesar Manrique is Jameos del Agua, it's a spectacular underground venue, very impressive. A little further along from there is Mirador del Rio offering views across to Graciosa. There's a parrot park along the way too.

There's a water park in Costa Teguise too. On Sundays there's a market in the old town of Teguise, mostly full of tat, but it's a day out!

hope you have a great holiday. "breezy" teguise is very similar to most holiday resorts, however it is fairly low-rise and mainly painted white.if you want to buy any electronics they can be cheap there, but do your research before you go and bargain hard.
the water park is a nice day out, even for a child thats only 5.
the area is clean, and car rental very cheap(bring your licence).
    enjoy.

Stayed there last year with two 11 year olds the entertainment is great all day long, very big complex and the apartments are basic enough. The one thing that annoyed me was you had to queue for your sunbed and they werent given out until 9 30 dont let that worry you because there is a beautiful beach behind the hotel.
