Anyone had this done within the last while? Im sure theres a clinic in Cork, will double check later this eve on Google, but just wanted advice from anyone on what they think. Is there discomfort? How long out of action would one be? If only one eye is done how soon after is the other done? Is it really all its said to be?

The adverts are super sounding but want to hear from the real world!!!
    Thanks.

I had it done last year - brilliant, from wearing glasses and lens since I was 7 (31 now) to waking up being able to see - it's great.
The procedure is very straight forward, both eyes done at the one sitting and off home in a cab, I had a problem with my left eye, the clear contact lens didn't sit right so I went back in and he removed it. Apart from that it was brill, I'd do it all again, theonly thing I would do different is onne eye at a time and leave a few days in between.

Never heard of both eyes being done in one sitting??!! And what do you mean about a clear contact lens not sitting right?? What have contact lenses to do with Laser Eye Treatment? Are they part of the procedure or something?

Thanks too to you as well Moonbeam for that link. I did search, but in wrong area id say:o

There was a guy from the Mater hospital on Gerry Ryan last month, you should be able to listen to the show below, I think he's on about 1 hour in

    Thursday 12th June 2008

The number of clinics offering laser eye surgery in Ireland has increased over 400% in the last five years but leading experts in the industry are now raising grave concerns over their assessment, operation and aftercare standards. Professor Michael O'Keeffe, consultant ophthalmologist from the Mater Hospital joins Gerry this morning to outline his concerns.

I think they put lenses in the eyes after to help it repair for a few days
