New Zealand have just finished their innings and after being put in to bat, they've finished on a massive 402/2. Oh dear.

    Here's the team:

WK McCallan, AC Botha, P Connell, PR Stirling, R Strydom, AD Poynter, GE Kidd, AR White, wicketkeeperGC Wilson, RS Haire, PS Eaglestone

Ireland all out for 112. New Zealand win by 290 runs.

    Ouch.

I dint see it, but that sounds bad. New zealand are in great form at the moment in all fairness. Playing regularly in these kinds of matches is the only way to progress. It was always gonna be a contest between us and Scotland for 2nd place.

Dear oh dear, this doesn't make great reading...

In fairness it was a weak Ireland side but that is quite embarrassing.

NZ are not a great team - but we got a royal kicking today :o - And I nearly travelled over for it.....lucky I didn't - there'd be blood on my blarney army top :(

Embarassing but understandable. We had a poor team going out there and New Zealand played well but still.... OUCH!

going into last year's world cup NZ were ranked 3 in the world...
they've just won back to back 1-day series against england..
McCullum is amongst the most dangerous batsmen in the world. Their bowling attack included vettori (arguably the most intelligent bowler in the game) Oram (who's more miserly than scrooge) Southee (who's youth and pace destroyed England in a test last january) and Patel (who's a canny young spinner)..
We have nothing like the talent or experience of that team, so it was no surprise that they ran away with it..
sure we're struggling against scotland today.. our bowlers just don't have the experience to take on top batsmen like NZ had.. and our batting is cagey and always liable to collapse..
