The note on the preference of portraits as well as well as the helpful hints must have been added in the last few days as it wasn't there when I read over the guidelines when I submitted a few images about a week ago. Ah well.

Like many it would seem, I originally thought it was a live music only thing. So I submitted my 5 and was done. Then james explained it was anything music related, so I emailed again explaining and sent another 3 portrait shots. Hope that doesnt disqualify me

Didn't know bout the portrait thing either, thought it was just live shots! Ah well... Don't have any expectations at all as Ireland seems to be a hotspot for great music photographers...

it always said they wanted music photography that wasn't just typical live concert stuff. from what i read originally i always presumed non concert shots would be what they would consider being 'outside the box'


i don't think there's any prize apart from being allowed to exhibit. I've had my photos in it the past 3 or 4 years, always is a bit of fun and gets your pictures out there that little bit more

that last one is a field in cavan at 7am in the morning, meaning we had to get up at about 4am and also spend time moving a piano into a cow field on the back of a tractor

i've heard nothing yet.

i doubt previous exhibitions have any say on this years as the guys judging it were nothing to do with hwch in previous years.

every other year it's been on, they picked people who were actively working hard in the music scene, this year, for once, it's based on talent, so there may be new people picked

hope i will be selected as i really like my pics but who knows
