Underground techno club, LowerState, has just announced a simmering summer line-up of acts. Covering music styles from minimal to deep house, the gigs are on once a month in De Burgo's. This is what Galway's dance music aficionados have been waiting for.

First up is Berliner YAPACC (Neuton, Perlon, Treibstoff) on Friday July 11th. His influences include such legends as Miles Davis, Jean Michel Jarre and Pink Floyd, which goes someway to explain his "Downbeat techno structures with Hippiespace Psychedelics on a high intensity level" musical style. Yappac's releases have been supported heavily by Ricardo Villalobos, Laurent Garnier, Italoboyz, Kiki and Michel de Hey. His live sets have been generating vibrations from Tokyo to New York already this year. http://www.myspace.com/yapacc

On August 1st is another Berliner and another live set from Hendrik Weber, better known as PANTHA DU PRINCE. Affiliated with Hamburg's Dial music label, Weber has also released on heavyweight imprints Sonar Kollektiv and Get Physical. His first album, Diamond Daze (2004), garnered considerable acclaim with some critics gleefully pointing out Weber's affinity for late-'80s British shoegaze bands such as Slowdive, Moose, Ride, and My Bloody Valentine. His affinity for Detroit techno (à la Carl Craig) and minimal techno (Chain Reaction) was evident as well. His second album, This Bliss, was one of 7 albums reviewed by Resident Advisor in 2007 to receive the prestigious 5/5, and ranked alongside the likes of Gabriel Ananda and The Field. http://www.myspace.com/panthaduprince

Finally on Sept 12th is one of the most talented newcomers this year - DASO (Spectral Sound, Connaisseur). Born in Poona, raised in Lower Saxony and moved to Cologne. Out of nothing, his debut record Daybreak was released on My Best Friend in 2005. Soon after, two more releases on Daybreak followed, as well as Conaisseur and Spectral Sound. His Meine Idee EP released in Oct 07 was highly regarded as one of the best of 2007. Daso's real talent however lies in his explosive live show, bridging thoughtful minimal, extatic rave and hard techno. http://www.myspace.com/dasofranke

All gigs are on in De Burgos with the beats kicking off at 10pm. Check out http://www.lowerstate.ie for some free mixes, photos and videos of what the lads have been up to.
