Have an PC with XP Home on it, now looking to buy a new PC which will have Vista on it.
How easy will it be to transfer pictures, music, files etc from one to the other?

When you first go into Vista a welcome screen appears (and you can find it again afterwards in the control panel if you like). This has an option to transfer files and settings from XP. I think you need to buy a particular cable to connect the two PCs via the USB ports, you can get them in PC world etc, think they're about €30.

Personally though I think you'd be better to do it manually, you can buy a very decent sized memory stick for €30, or less, if you don't have one already. Put it in your XP PC, copy the files you want to it, put it in your new PC, copy files off. Nice and simple and you get to make sure that every file you need is copied.

Or buy a 500gb external hard drive, or smaller if you dont have that much data. That was you can always keep a copy incase things go tit's up at some point and you wont loose the data.
