Oh the Pain

Now I know this is not a Medical Forum but I am now looking for Medical Advice.
After weeks of suffering I went to the Doctor last week and was told that I had sacroiliitis (inflamation of)!
Just wondering has anyone had this...how long has it lasted? Are there any exercises I can do to relieve the pain? I have been told swimming and walking by the Doc but I read on the Internet that people who suffer from this suffer permanently and require physio?
I do a lot of sports to keep down the weight and am worried about putting on weight!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Could your doc not provide you with this info when you went to see him?

Use the internet for research purposes at your peril. You'll learn a lot, but there's also an awful lot of junk out there too.

Contact your doctor for further info. Most doctors will speak to you for a few mins over the phone rather than you having to go in again for another appointment.
