UPC DVR question?

I have UPC DVR in limerick, standard pack with sports... I connected a feed from the RF out on the back of the DVR to a room upstairs, that gave me all the analogue channels on a second TV upstairs, nice one. But I cant get the digital output upstairs, meaning I play a recording from the DVR downstairs but I get nada upstairs like I used to with sky+, with the sky+ box I could tune in the TV upstairs and get the sky+ output, or whatever was on downstairs could be watched upstairs. Can this be done with UPC DVR...?

You have to rent a second box to get digital in another room.

Dont want an extra box m8, just wanna go to bed, put on a recording of match of the day downstairs and watch it upstairs without disconnecting the DVR and carting it upstairs...

as for video senders, all feedback I've heard is not good, with interferance from microwaves, cordless phones, wireless routers all of which I have.

So these UPC DVR's dont have an analogue output signal like a sky+ box, I think i've just answered my own question....:)

The UPC boxes do not make an RF output of their own like Sky boxes or VCRs.

You can get a video sender like what dunworth1 said (with potential interference on 2.4GHz band) or instead you could get an RF modulator (like this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=rf%20modulator&source=15&SD=Y) to achieve the same results as a Sky box. There's probably cheaper ones around, or if you're bored you could get a RF modulator from some old video game console (some like the PlayStation 1, Sega Saturn, etc. came with a RF modulator separate from the console) and rewire the input to a SCART plug. With any of these options you're going to have to use the SCART output of the UPC box.

This is the reason I wish I found these boards years ago...

This is exactly what I'm lookin for, never knew such thing existed, this is the business, gonna pop across to Maplin in the morn..... Yesssssss!

Do you know I have asked 3 seperate chorus installers about this 2 of 'em hadn't a clue and the other gave me the video sender fix...

    Thanx zilog_jones

How well do these work? I'm using a video sender and it works most of the time, are slingboxes better.

Slingbox is a very expensive alternative if you're just using it within your house. You'll need a computer network in your house (wired or wireless), normally you can only watch it remotely on a computer (unless you wire it up to your TV, which will make SD stuff look crap) and it's only compatible with Windows/Mac OS/Windows Mobile and some phones. It's more designed for watching TV remotely over the internet.
