Hoping someone can help me out!!
I have an Xbox 360 and getting sky plus tomorrow.
Both of these have optical out but I only have 1 optical input on my surround sound system.
What sort of a splitter do I need to have both connected s I really don't want to be unplugging and swapping the cables around?!!

    Optical Splitter. £15

Peats or Maplins should have em in stockor similar.
Can also get a simpler two way one that autosenses whichever signal is currently active.

    Sorted!

Just wondering if i could use the same kind of setup to allow my xbox360, PS3 and sky+ (when I get it this month) to run through my home cinema, which only has one optical in

I found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.ie/Digital-Optical-Toslink-3-Way-Switch-Splitter-4-CABLE_W0QQitemZ180265338119QQihZ008QQcategoryZ295QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and I was wondering if this would do the job, it seems like a good deal considering you get the cables thown in

Yep that'll work just fine. Manual selection switch to change between the different inputs is a bit cumbersome but for that price hey!

Cheers Homer i just bought it there, yeah the manual switching of the source is a bit of a pain but at least i can hook them all up.

the price was good too considering i paid 24 for 1 x 0.75m cable from maplin
