Based on the fact you wont be using any HD sources, it would be pointless in getting the Full HD M86.This will require clarification but Samsungs were not the best lcds for SD content(Last years models anyway which the M86 is).The A456 is a new year model so they may have come fairly forward in that regard. To the best of my knowledge, Sony are the best LCD for SD. I always thought Samsungs greatest strength was HD.
Ye know, if SD is going to take up most of your viewing time, and your not a gamer, a plasma may better suit your needs.Panasonic plasmas are really good for SD content(Better than any LCD IMO)

I think that one is the new 2008 model and it would be less than than any of the other lcds youve considered. It has a contrast ratio of 1000000:1 which is nice:)

Thank you Zonda999 this has given me more to think about. im going to try find some reviews on this TV and maybe some store in Dublin has one on display so I can view before I decide.

Does anyone know what happens if a TV from pixmania arrives faulty. Do pixmania arrange for the collection and replacement at there cost or do you have to pay to send it back?

Ive looked up that tv and it is actually the european model rather than the UK model(this doesnt surprise me at all because pixmania always sells products that arent strictly available here). There doesnt seem to be any differences in specs between the uk and euro models

I'd say that that model would nearly be everywhere so you should have no problem finding it.If anything, it may be the european one on sale generally in this country because afaik, the uk ones odnt have UHF tuners that some of us need to get normal tv signals, the euro ones do.Thats a good price on pixmania from the looks of it
