Tues evening, no approx time i will have my macbook.
I have being Threatening this for a while, kept looking at the refub store, then the other half would be putting a stop to my Mac buying antics!

But sneakily talking to my brother he picked me up a macbook saving me €300 in America, he's travelling home tonight so after work tomorrow ill get it. Can't wait.
Hope my life changes for the better!

Vista is a pig of a program which everyday i use it finding it more and more un-user-friendly. If it can't handle internet explorer........

Now going to go read the noob's sticky so i can learn some more!

Ok so day two of the mac saga!!
Never realized how fast you can actually surf the net, maybe its just a great day for my stinking clearwire, but i doubt it!

So far so good, this little machine is "AWESOME" may have being a wee bit more expensive but you really do get what you pay for!

What spec is the macbook you have?? And if you don't mind me asking, how much was it??

no problem, its the 2.4ghz, 2gb memory, 13" white macbook, didnt see a point with the black one! Other then maybe to avoid staining.
It was $1299, so about E900. On the irish store its E1199 so a decent saving. Iam really liking my purchase!

Cool..... thats a great price alright! Hope you enjoy it anyway! I'v seen both the white and black beside eachother and i like them both really. There are rumours that the macbooks maybe going aluminum, but IMO, i wouldn't like that to happen. Makes them too similer to a MacBook Pro

Yeah i would've preferred the black but the extra couple of hundred euros/dollars just doesn't make sense IMO.
Yeah i heard that, but i wanted to get it now! Its being awhile in the planning.

The OS is cleaner, easier to use and doesn't get in your way. Also Expose and Spaces are the business (The next Windows OS needs these).

its nice and sleek but you cannot cut things which is rapidly making me hate my mac

The Black Macbook looks nice in pics but when you see them in stores on display they look horrific. Smuges and fingermaks are easier to see on them. The white one is much nicer.

You can cut text and other items within documents and images no problem, it's only in the Finder that you can't cut. Which admittedly is a little stupid, but tbh once I got used to the idea I stopped thinking about it. Expose and spring-loaded folders in the dock make up for this I think. I seem to remember someone creating an Automator action to enable cut and paste a while ago, you may be able to find it if you Google for it.

I'd much rather that than the numerous usability quirks Windows throws at you (no one click way to rename files, no renaming/moving files when they're open, etc.) Vista may do this, I have no idea, but XP sure as hell didn't.

Edit: For those looking for this functionality in the Finder, see my post in another thread.
