    Why do you need to unlock a BIOS protected hard drive?? Is it yours??

    if youre talking about the BIOS password though thats an easy one... but for the sake of legalnessness, what need you to bypass a BIOS password for? As Jager so aptly put it, do we know this is your machine?

    Did you even read any of the links? Also, is it just the BIOS password you need to reset, or is the actual hard disk locked (encrypted in some way)? Hard drive encryption methods are usually pretty good, and unlocking will need the actual password. Reseting a BIOS password is generally simple, but depends on the motherboard. Consult the manual for how to do it. I'm assuming this is actually yours and you have access to the manual.

    Bought hardrive on ebay,when I installed it I discovered it was locked.120 gig hitachi sata.

    Obviously then you should contact the seller and ask him for the password.... Buying a HD online, that is password locked when you recieve it should start alarm bells ringing..
