Guys, loooking to get the following done on my Buick ('41)

    - tighten fan belt
    - oil change
    - clean sparks
    - lubricate points in chassis

I'd be interested in a US car specialist in the Cork City area.

    Any recommendations ?

    Resurrecting this thread . . .

I've learnt a lot working on my car. There are still some things I would like to have a pro look at tho...

    Suspension bushings & Timing chain

    It's a 69 Cadillac Deville

Anyone got any leads on a mechanic who would be cool with this work - Dublin or surrounds..

    Thanks a lot

    Jon

I presume your's is the yellow convertible?

    Is the timing chain noisy?

    Thanks for your reply Kevin

Yes it is the yellow one ... ? !:)

Hard to miss it i suppose.

I don't think the timing chain is noisy. It's on my list of things to do. - from US posts on the cadillac forums, the 472 engines were fitted with a poor quality nylon tipped timing set. I wanted to update to a cloyes chain at some point. would try it myself but I might bugger it up

    Cheers

Thats it! There are only a handful of '69s around.

I'd leave the chain assembley well enough alone, I cant imagine your doing enough mileage to worry about it.

I have never heard of one break or strip a gear.

No not too many miles with old school big block MPGs !

I've not seen any other 69/70's around dublin myself yet. I've had the car 3 years and not really brought it to any shows or anything - needs some upholstery repair.

I would HONK loudly if I ever spotted another around !

Any ideas for someone to do steering & suspension ?

    Cheers

    Jon
