What a display by the Pacman

he is developing into the complete boxer , I not Diaz is quite stiff , but PACMANS power at the weight was Awesome , he would eat KHAN for breakfast if the fought in the next six months I think hatton would give him a much better test , say what u want about hatton but is dangerous as anyone when he wants to be

But again Well done pacman , I have to say though i have seen fights stopped for a lot less than the deep wound on Diaz face I thought this seriously effected his perfomance and the fght possibly should have been stopped earlier

PAC MAN 4 TIMES WORLD CHAMPION BRING ON HATTON

The Pac - man was amazing. I never doubted his skill's but I did think he would struggle at the weight. It's not an easy thing to do - See Hatton.

I think Pac could make a big splash at lightweight. I'd love to see him take out Amir Kahn't. But we all know that won't happen.

Did you see Pac's face when asked about fighting at welter :)

Marquez hurt Manny to the body so i think Hatton could fairly mince him to the body! although Manny is a better fighter than ricky, dont know if i'd like to see it tbh...

Manny should focus on lightweight and not lose the run of himself.

But Marquez is a sold fighter and a better all rounder than Ricky.

With Manny's skill and speed I could see him doing a Floyd on Hatton but the major issue would be the step up in weight.

BTW why can't I post in the soccer thread?

I don't think he'd be interested in moving up to light welter judging by his reaction to it!
Khan isn't in the same league as Manny, not yet anyway.

Are we looking at another Duran in the making?

he was amazing but I'd like to see him against a better lightweight than Diaz he's a good fighter but not that good, maybe a unification with Campbell and Hatton next year if he beats Malinaggi

The word going round is that he will fight Edwin Valero, probably in Texas where Valero has recently been licensed and after that take on Ricky Hatton who should be taking on Paulie Malignaggi next .

Casamayor is fighting Juan Manuel Marquez on the 13th of September
Nate Campbell is fighting Juan Guzman the same night
Juan Diaz is fighting Michael Katsidis the week before

This is all part of a Lightweight contest held by Golden Boy promotions , as things stand currently Pacquiao has not part in it and it is rumoured Jesus Chavez + one other fighter will make up the rest of this tournament .

I just read that after i posted :)

I'd like to see pacman and hatton getting it on it's a genuine 50/50 for me maybe even 60/40 pacman.

Pac was interested in light welter, it was welter that he said no. He doesn't want any of Cotto, lets face it who does.

Pac should at least stay a few fights at light weight. He looked very fast and the ko itself was devastating

Now Diaz is no world beater but he's solid a durable. Manny could/should clean up a light weight.

Have to say, before Saturday I thought Hatton would be just too big and strong. Even though that may well still be the case, I see Pacman as a very real threat to Hatton now.

I know Diaz wasn't great, but Manny was so sharp and his speed of hand and foot would give any lightwelter problems.

He will lose some speed going up further in weight. Also, I think you are overlooking that Hatton is a much more skillful boxer than Diaz and can hit much harder. it is possible Pacquiao might be ahead on points for a while but the size difference would ultimately come against him in the end. Pacman would be tko'd by Hatton.

While I agree Pac could well dominate at lightweight lets not forget he fought the weakest champ at that weight. IF he could handle the likes of Casamayor and the baby bull in the same fashion that would be amazing.

I also think that Hatton is on a slow decline Pac would have the skills to "box the ears of" Ricky for the 12 rounds BUT Ricky sheer size could also grid down Pac, lets not forget Manny stated off fighting at 106/108.

If I was Manny's manager I would stay at lightweight, there is a load of exciting fights at that weight. Casa, all the Diaz'z Freitas....

And I hear Manny has signed to fight unbeaten KO king Valero. What a fight that will be.

I saw the bout today, a disgusting one sided beating that IMO should have been
stopped after 5 rds. David's corner are a disgrace to allow their man to take so much unnecessary punishment. Pac was very good, but I think he was a far better Feather than Lightweight. He is not a natural lightweight and the bout was so one sided; that it is hard
to really evaluate Pac's threat at 135-140lbs. Hatton if he meets Pac will IMO be too physically strong, at least he should be. Khan right now would be a much stiffer test to Pac than Diaz

As TKO said, Pac was a Fly to start with and really, feather is his best weight

I totally agree that the fight should have been stopped a lot earlier.

As far as Pac versus Hatton goes, I am finding it hard to weigh it up really. The one thing that could play a factor is Hattons cuts, as you know Pacman slices people open and Ricky has had a problem with them in the past. Its never stopped him yet though.

Eagle, I wouldn't be too surprised at all if Pac were to beat Hatton. He shouldn't IMO be winning 10 stone titles. Pac is a small 135 lb fighter and a natural feather. Hatton should be too naturally big and strong, but like I said, I wouldn't be surprised, as Hatton really isn't all THAT and can be very one dimensional
