Spain 2008 vs previous Champions

So, the best team won, but how does this fantastic young Spanish side compare to previous champions? Having beaten the 2004 champions and 2006 World Cup winners en route to glory, and making it 21 games unbeaten over two years, can they now be considered to be (currently) the best international team in the world?

Certainley the best team in Europe alot better than both of the WC finalists & at the moment a better side than Brazil. Better than Argetina? maybe.

They did beat Argentina in a friendly last year, 2-1. It was only a friendly granted, but it was fiercely contested one with played with arguably the best players from each side.

What a poorly conceived and ill thought out poll. I really ought not to have included teams like Greece and Denmark, and should have included another second vote for Spain 2008 vs other team or WC winners are the best, or something like that. Anyway to edit a poll? All my effort and good intentions of starting this thread seem wasted. Mods?

Edit: and I didn't even include Spain 2008. Fcuk it, someone delete this thread and start another poll! :(

I think as team Spain are better. They keep the ball better & pass it better although Argentina are very good at that themselves Spain are slighty better. Although saying that the way Messi is progressing by 2010 he could take another page out of Mardona's book & lead Argentina to the WC by himself. But for the time being I think Spain just about have the upper hand.

    Lev Yashin would probably agree.

This thread / poll should be locked / merged in place of this one

    Mods, por favor... :)

Polls are tricky. See my previous two posts in this thread...
