Many people are late for various reasons.

Worrying over it won't change whether you are pregnant or not.

Dont worry, if the test is negative then im sure you'll be ok, also by you stressing itll take your period longer to come- best of luck x

    What test was it ?
Did you use both test wands/strips ?
Did you check the best before date on the box ?

I would suggest you try again in 2 days time.

    Agree with Victor.

You can get a false negative alright.

Wait a day or two, or get a first repsonse pregnancy test and see hwat happens. It detects the pregnancy hormone about 5 days before your period is due..

I understand completely how your feeling, i took a test not so long ago although i was more than 5 day's late, took awhile to build up the courage to pee on that stick but anyway to cut a long story short, it was negative and got my period the following day :o

I agree with you Victor, it wouldnt change things. The stress element could delay a period though, and then there is the strength of the pregnancy hormone to account for.

There are tests available that can tell you if you are pregnant days prior to your period, but again - that depends on the strength of the pregnancy hormone.

Moral of the story, I wouldnt panic. Do another test in a couple of days time, and try ( I know its hard to do) but try put your mind off it for now.

Its been pointed out already, but worrying will not help.

SNIP This post was so stunningly clever I figured the rest of us needed protection from it.

pixbyjohn when you've actually read the charter and actually have a cogent thought that may help someone, then you're welcome around here. If not stick to the cerebral heights of After Hours. Final and only warning.

Sometimes worrying about it makes your period even later. Take another test just for your own peace of mind.

hey thanks for all the replies(bar one!) in answer to the question about the brand, it's Clear Blue and the expiry date is fine. It's a two-pack and i just used the one, i'm planning on taking the 2nd one on Wednesday if there's still no sign.

I have heard of women getting one or more several false positives early on in pregnancy so that's the reason i posted-i just wanted some opinions on whether i'm being paranoid.

the more stressed you are the less likely they are to come. I'd say try another one and see.
Late per are caused by lots of things. Cycles can be strange
