TMO in Currie cup

Was watching Western Province v Blue Bulls yesterday, and there seemed to be an awful lot of use of the TMO... Checking for dangerous tackles, forward passes (leading to a try) etc. They said it was experimental, but I found it a bit annoying... Just wondering if anyone else was watching and what they thought...

I might have been biased though... One of the TMO checks was for a forward pass by Western province leading to a try and I had money on them... ;)

But one thing I find for the crowd, you can't celebrate as much as soon as the try is scored if you have to wait for the TMO and the excitement has worn off a bit by the time the referee hears back from him...

Yes they are testing out laws which give the TMO more powers ie the ones you'v mentioned.

If they are passed though ill never watch rugby again as they are the worst idea ever to be tested by the IRB.

No one else have a opinion on this?

Here's a example of it in a different match

    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=08j3fBpD0uY

Seriously people if this trial is deemed successful by the IRB rugby which we know and love will be dramatically changed from what is now into a shambles.

One thing i cannot for the life of me understand is the fact the IRB is giving touch judges more power then what they have yet if this law goes through it ll just mean that if ANYTHING happens they ll say to the ref "Havent got a clue what happened but something did so lets spend 10 minutes asking to TMO to look for sweet f*ck all"

During the Bulls Western Province game ref looked for a forward pass or something and the TMO instead goes back and looks at Bobo falling over after clipping a centres knee after grubber kicking. The footage shows nothing was in it but he ends up spending 5 minutes looking over this deciding it was deliberate and awards a penalty for tripping complete and utter bullsh1t
