Problem with songs sent via email

I have been sent some songs via email and when I try and open the links up to listen to them I get a message saying 'dowloading usage rights'. I have never seen this before and usually have no problem downloading. Can anyone tell me what do I need to do to listen to the tracks?

Sounds like your trying to play a protected DRMed song and its detecting you dont have a license to play it, try asking for a copy of the song in mp3 format which will avoid this issiue if its DRM related

Yeah, there is an option in WMP that's probably ticked, so when you rip a CD onto your computer it's copy protected.
So you need to get her to rip it again with that option un-ticked.

Cheers - I will get them to do that. Hope it works this time.

I know it's probably very simple but can someone tell me how I put the songs on to a CD?
