PrePay Unlimited Time Broadband

    Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a prepay broadband available that doesn't only last a month?

So if you could get a good data package on prepay/pay as you go sim card and maybe put it in a phone with a modem and then hook the phone up to the pc, so you could basically just have a sim card as your "broadband" sim, and have say €10 credit left in it, which could equal 1gb of data or whatever and then if you need to use it, just hook it up and the €10 credit would basically last until you use it up, or 12 months or however long credit usually lasts on phones.

At the moment I'm paying o2 €7.50 per month for a 250mb package, but in about 2 weeks, I've only used maybe 6mb, so it's a bit of a waste, but it's the cheapest option to get mobile broadband that I know of. The thing is, in a year, it's going to cost me about €90, and I may have only used up 200 or so MB in that time (although the reason I'm on the package is IF I ever need to use it for much longer, so it wont cost me a mint), plus, if I want to connect abroad, the data wont be in the 250MB package and in the UK it'll cost me €8 a mb:eek:

Now when I say broadband, I just mean a way to connect to surf/send emails, as I know even though the likes of 3 () advertise broadband, the speeds aren't broadband at all, with 3 anyway!

    Any feedback appreciated :)

no there's nothing like you describe unfortunately. They all cut you off after a month, even on bill pay. The closest thing would be vodafone's 99c a day deal in that you only pay for the days you use but that would only work out cheaper if you very rarely use it. If you use as little as 20kb a day but use it every day it'll end up costing e30 a month

if you want to use it abroad 3's your best bet. Their 1gb for e10 a month can be used in england and any 3 country

The speed all depends on where you are and the contention in your area, for example I pay eircom for 3mb broadband and I was getting 128kbs yesterday....using your 02 sim there's no way your getting 3.6mpb broadband everwhere, your wrong if you think 02 has the bigger faster broadband network.......

For what you want to do your best best is get on to 3 as op suggested...

Time to come out of your 02 bubble and join us on the dark side..

Suggest 3 pay as you go with a data add on of 5.99pm....it should do what you want....

Hehe, I'm WITH three at the moment for the 10gb 20 euro package, it's TERRIBLE:mad:

That 99c per day thing sounds good as I don't use it often at all. I've only used it once in them 2 weeks I've had it. What's the daily cap on that? What's the Three PAYG data add on? How much MB would that give me?

    Thanks for the replies :)
