    Just attempting to log into my paypal account this morning and I recieve the following message -

    Security Measures

    We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures. Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and you will now be taken through a series of identity verification pages.

    Protecting the security of your PayPal account is our primary concern, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Credit Card Information

    Credit Card: **Expiry Date & Last 4 Digits provided here**

    Full Card Number: For user to enter

    Is this normal ? I havent seen this before so i'm a bit wary. I'm not using any links to get to my account jsut going directly to paypal.com

    Sounds OK to me. If it's on the site, you have https and the green padlock, then it's one of their security checks. I have heard of these, but never known anyone to actually go through the process.

    Hey yea,


    My paypal a/c was hacked a few months ago. I would call the customer care line to have it checked. You have to be careful- its you money!!

    Well I went through the checks anyway after checking the security certificates and that and got confirmation emails from paypal on completion and so on so it seems it was legit alright.

    Ill change my passwords and stuff just to be sure anyway, cant be too careful.
