    Bassitar (guitar and bass)
Hendrix could have played that one...thumb over the top for the bass strings and fingers for the magic...

ugly as hell......but the guitar rocks man....:D

Something real classy about that neck and head but the body is definitely ugly.

Its a double-neck Ovation. It looks exactly like what a double-neck Ovation is going to look like  Form follows function in this case.

If that's the ugliest guitar you've seen, you can't have seen many.

I guess you´ve never seen too many! :D Now seriously, there´s just something wrong with the concept to me. I dig Ovations as any other thing but fitting two necks and drilling those round holes just doesn't seem right to me.

The soundholes are an Ovation trademark, 90% of Ovations have them. They're for acoustics and not aesthetics.

Sorry, but it's grand looking guitar, nowhere near ugly.

    This on the other hand...

I know about the holes, it´s not the first Ovation I see. There´s no point arguing on this, people will either like/dislike/ignore the guitar, the only point of the thread was to have some craic. I was quite shocked when I stumbled upon the thing and thought I'd share with the crowd.

If i buy one of those, will i be able to play like Jimmy Petrucci?
I am now thinking about a Slash/Satriani/Vai/Page/Tom Delonge signiture collection.;)

It actually makes you play worse because you have to get around the pesky spare string holder below the E.

Has anyone noticed the diddario strings clashing with the guitar?

    What you mean D'addario clashing????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,817 ✭✭✭✭Dord

He means the coloured ball ends of the D'addario strings.

Oh man, I'd kill for a Zemaitis. I think they look deadly, and theyre rarer than hens teeth, actually make that diamond encrusted gold hens teeth.

I remember seeing a documentary or something with Tony Zemaitis giving out about Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes and others ringing him at mad hours of the morning from the States trying to order more guitars!!
(Actually now that I think of it every time I see Rich Robinson he has one hell of a guitar in his hand. Great player, miserable looking git though!!)

he was playing a version of Bo Diddleys Electromatic block guitar:

its odd, but i dont find it terribly ugly. when you think the precedent that was set on this guitar by Bo, its a little peice of history really.
