At least once a day my lap top crashes and I get that dreaded blue screen  it's been going on for a few weeks now.

The latest one I got said page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. Another time it said memory_management and sometimes i just get a load of numbers...

I have been on the dell website and downloaded various updates that were available but it is still happening. Also when I put it into hibernation and then start it again the screen resoultion keeps changing on me...??

I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some assistance!!!

Smells like a memory error, how old is it?

Only have it since February :( I use an external hard drive, would that have any affect??

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/w2000Msgs/6093.mspx?mfr=true

    Error info.

External HD should have no bearing on this but does it happen when its not connected?

Run a chkdsk on the HD (follow the link above, I know it says Win2K but it stil is valid info)

If this is happening on such a new laptop then back to Dell it goes, this is something they will have to sort out.

If that is the case, then don't waste your time here - ring Dell.

It can be quite difficult to diagnose a problem such as this via a forum such as this.
