    Hey folks,
I'm looking to get a small trailer, single axle, built to pull 12-14 kayaks for a university club. I've no idea where to get it designed or built, so I figure here's the best bet.
    Hopefully Galway/Connacht based.
Anyone know of a firm that does good work? It'll be the college paying for it so it doesn't have to be the cheapest of the cheap, but it'll still have to be a competitive rate.
Any and all info would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    WP

IIRC, there's a company in Athenry who make custom trailers, including braking systems and running lights. I'll see if I can dig out their number.

Unless kayaks aren't what I think you'd need a big trailer to move that amount of them. There'd have to be a good bit of bracing and very good brackets for holding them down as they'd make a good sail when doing 80km/h.

NUIG have something similar to what you're looking for in Woodquay. Someone there might know where you could get one.

The is a guy in Portumna called O'Brien trailers that makes custom trailers to order, for all kinds of activities.

If you get one made it would be worth getting it galvanised rather than painting it if you are using it for marine it also looks the part.

Cost you about e150 in Shannonside. http://www.shannonsidegalv.com/

I don't know if you're serious or not, but I'll let my ignorance decide.
Cheers for the numbers folks, I'll be ringing around next week.
And Fey, I'm actually in NUIG kayak club, we need a new trailer and I said I'd see if I could sort one.

I feel you might be mixing these up with something else. Most clubs use a small trailer for moving this amount of trailers, indeed we have an existing one that's just rusted to fcuk and I'm only trying to replace it. Our bigger trailer would hold upwards of forty boats.

Aye, I'll be getting it galvanised definitely.
