Cheapest way to activate TV sockets?

I've always got my TV free through a dodgy cable in the house. Since the house was renovated there was a TV input thingimajig put in each room. At the moment they don't work. What is the cheapest way of getting these activated so I can just plug a cable in to the back of my telly and start watching? As you can probably…

I've always got my TV free through a dodgy cable in the house. Since the house was renovated there was a TV input thingimajig put in each room. At the moment they don't work. What is the cheapest way of getting these activated so I can just plug a cable in to the back of my telly and start watching?

As you can probably tell I struggled for the correct terms to use. Cheers.

My granda is over 20 years dead. I can't ask him. The majority of people living in my area over 20 years are getting free cable.

There is no free Cable. No doubt the new owners (UPC) as they upgrade areas for Digital and Broadband will ensure that there are no freeloaders.
