    Guys

What are the basic prizes for a Scratch Cup in Golf, how much is it to enter in it and how many players usually play in it?

In Pitch & Putt you normally get between €150 - €250 One4All Vouchers and same for 2nd, 3rd etc..

I am just curious as to which sport offers the best prizes to winners as Pitch & Putt can be known as " Poor Man's Golf" which is totally unjustified;)

Cash. The clubs aren't supposed to be giving prizes like that but they use it to attract more of the top amateurs

Can you get CASH even though it is amateur??? I find that amazing that they are able to get away with that with GUI finding out...... Could you get in trouble from GUI if they found out you were taking Cash?

Cash prizes are not allowed. Winning a scratch cup is hard to do so the prize is not important.. Its the winning!!!!!

Cash prizes not allowed? Here's just one example of cash prizes, and it's a regular occurance. Many of the better scratch cups have decent sponsors to attract better amateurs who wouldn't normally travel.

    ST. ANNE’S SENIOR SCRATCH CUP

    Sunday 6th July 2008

    Sponsored by

    CAPEL DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED

    Cost: €40

    Shotgun start – 36 holes
    Max handicap 4
    Prizes:

    1st €725

    2nd €350, 3rd €200, 4th €175

    5th €150, 6th €100

How many holes do ye play if there is a tie for 1st... Good prizes but the entry is high if you were playing regularly and not winning etc.... How many competitors would normally play in these comps.....

How are Clubs able to get away with giving Cash though.. This has me really confused... Are the GUI throwing a blind eye over it:confused:
