Classic valuation question

I've just received my quote for classic insurance from First Ireland in the post. I'm happy with it (I'm insured on my first car through them) and I'm going with them but I have to have the car valued by a classic specialist or a qualified consulting engineer. I've no problem with that but I don't know anyone who knows the value of a Triumph Dolomite. I have a good idea what they're worth from owning them before and keeping tabs on the market in the UK but will anyone here know? Does anyone on here know someone who'll put a value on a car?

Is there a club? If so the registrar will know.

I agreed a value with them based on 4 photos, and my own suggestion.

Go to a garage armed with some documentation and say to the person there that you need a valuation, you think its worth X, here are your docs. can you stamp this and I'll give you Y amount of money.

That should work, if it does not, go to the next garage and repeat, go to small places.

That might be the way to go Mustang. I use a small garage to service my daily runabout so I might ask him. The funny thing is I'll probably need to tell him what it's worth for him to tell me what it's worth!! I only say that because of the (sometimes) inflated prices for classics here.
