Just a question, I have a ACELS reconginsed TEFL cert, and M.A in English and a HDip Ed in English.

Is there any point in doing a CELTA or other EFL qualifiaction on top of all this?

I have a job in a decent language school, and would rather avoid sceondary school if I can, but they have offered me financing to do CELTA if I wanted it.

    Whats the advantage?

If you are planning to stay in Ireland, not a lot of benefit at all. CELTA is a recognised international qualification. It's similar to the course you've already done, assuming it is the ACELS 120 hour certificate course, although IMO a better course. However if you've been teaching for any length of time then you would effectively be repeating the course you've done. Strikes me as odd that they would suggest it. Are you sure it is CELTA and not DELTA? Is there any reason why they want you to do it?

As to your second question , the reasons for looking at things like the DELTA or a Masters in EFL/ESOL is to move up the ladder to DOS(Director of Studies) and above, get into research, improve your understanding of teaching, get into teacher training etc.
