    Nice shots.

Were you pitch side for these or in the stands? How do you get pitch side for this? Just ask at the gate?

I really need to get this shy streak out of me :)

Pitch side. Have been going there for years so no problems ever getting in.

    Great DOF in the images.

I know I keep saying it, but I really should make more of an effort to cover some GAA games.

I actually drove by last night.

    Keep up the great work.

Good to meet ya last night Chris.
First time trying a hurling match, much harder to keep up with. Here's a few of mine from roughly the same spot.

Great shots from both of you, I commented on your second one on flickr already although it could do with some contrast here.

Kilkenny are a superb team, must have been a good one to watch.

Tom, always good to meet someone new at the games. Some nice pics there.

My settings for JPEG out of the camera are 5,1,1,0 sharpness 5, contrast 1, saturation 1 and colour tone 0. Works for me, only thing I ever have to do is maybe auto levels..

I shoot raw always, and then do the minor adjustments in Lightroom.

I was shooting Raw too but finding myself doing the same adjustments in DPP over and over for every picture. Was going to adjust the jpeg camera settings to save a whole lotta hassle but was too scared I might feck things up! Might give it a go at your settings Borderfox..

The game was a bit of a let down, Kilkenny ran away with it early on and
Dublin were never likely to come back.
Amazingly the rain held off until a minute from the end.

I just shot jpeg for most of the game, as it was so fast I kept missing shots
while the 350D was trying to process a burst of RAW files. I can definitely
see the advantage in it though.

Am happy enough with my shots though, especially as the second half was
quite overcast and I didn't know if I'd get anything out of it.

That's one major advantage of using Lightroom - bulk processing if you want the same adjustments on a group of files.

I know there are advantages and also disadvantages of shooting raw. It suits some (me) and jpg suits others (Borderfox). It's a matter of finding the settings and workflow that suits your own needs. No one is right and no one is wrong, it's just a different way of doing it.

If you work at it and supply to papers it has to be JPEG, the stuff coming out of the Mk3 is fantastic and doesnt need much work especially if at night you set the white balance right :)
