Maximuscle Question

Alright lads, I've just started using Maximuscle Progain recently, but I really can't stomach the taste! It says use 2 scoops mixed in 500ml of water, and I could only make it halfway before almost getting sick!!
My question is, can anyone tell me would it affect the effectiveness of the stuff if I used a lot less water? say 250ml for 2 scoops??
Any help would be great - Thanks!

yeah thats what i did, just mix it so its runny, neck it and drink water after. Just bear in mind if you are using protein shakes make sure you are drinking a lot of water throughout the day. Thats probably one of the foulest ones but it is one of the best even though it is kinda expensive. but as many people say....when it comes to protein shakes....the better the taste, the worse the quality :)

milks got casein in which prolongs the intake of protein, mix with milk before bed for a slow gradual intake and with water straight after training, but yeah i do agree....tastes much nicer with milk lol

Rubbish tbh.....normally bandied about by people who use the word "hardcore" and "I'm" in the same sentence.

First off OP, Maximuscle is a waste of your money. You are paying over the odds for a product you can get a lot cheaper from other manufacturers. Look into Nutrition X, Optimum or Reflex.....or The Supplement Factory....they are supplement wholesalers. I recently ordered off them and was impressed with the quality of their stuff.

As others have said mixing with milk will make it taste better.

Big D, a lot of these companies source their powers from the same suppliers and package under their own product names. Usually they're on a par with each other (at best), I'd always advise going for the cheapest whey everytime.

And OP, as has been said - mix with milk for a better taste.

Funnily enough, one of those companies is based in Ireland, one is that States and one is in Sweden. There own brands are, in order, Nutrition X, Optimum and Reflex! :)

The Supplement Factory prices for Whey are pretty damn impressive. It thinks its about 30 quid for a 5 pounder of whey. And it's quality stuff according to it's amino acid profile as well.

Don't believe the lies about these amazing magic powders!
Take a good look at the label and see the ammount of chemical crap that is in them.
Stop wasting your money on rubbish and eat a good balanced diet. Went off on one there, but I don't like to see people being robbed by these big companies and their hype.

Depending on your required calorific intake and your macro split, protein poweder can be a great way to get in the protein that you need throughout the day.

When i'm in full training mode i'm looking at 5000 calories a day, a lot of them coming from proteins. While i fully agree that without having your basic nutritionals nailed there is no need to go with the supplements they do have a place for some folk and have helped many people reach their goals.

Fair enough if you have all the proper diet and nutrition nailed down and you need a shake to get 5000 calories because you have a fight comming up. The problem is that young people are being sold a pup by these big companies and its generally not needed and a rip off to boot.

I completely agree. Over on Fitness we get a lot of "what supplement should i take" and then you dig down a bit and their diet is terrible!!! In the gym i have young kids coming up asking me "what supplement do you take to get so big?"......eh, steak and heavy iron mostly!

As the name implies they are supplements and should only be used to boost your calorie intake. Your diet and training routine are 70% and the supplements are just a back up. Maximuscle are not known for their flavour, mix it wth milk it might help. Or as already mentioned there are other companies who produce Mass Builders and go down a little easier on the digestive system. Good luck with it anyway.:D

Yeah true lol i wasnt be scientific or anything lol personally i wouldnt buy maximuscle stuff now as it is expensive but i just meant its not a bad place to start as its one of the easiest to pick up...well where i live anyway. Theyve got it in every sports shops, nutrition shop, argos etc

I used to mix some juice like MiWadi with some shakes, tasted great...just experiment is all i can say.

Many elite trainers would say that training ,conditioning, diet and proper nutrition are over 95% of the programme for a champion. The other 1% to 5% is perhaps helped by supplements and only if all other factors are 100% correct otherwise its a waste of money. Buyer Beware!
