Cork should be comfortable enough, can't see us scoring at all for a while...

good win for cork city last night. dave mooney is on fire, what a player.

four wins in our last five now, looking a lot better than we did a few weeks ago.

Shels bottling it again! Couldn't even beat 10 man Fingal. Tut tut. Waterford the form team in the division at the moment.

Sporting Franchise were lucky because we had Keddy playing......
    Why do they exist?

They exist to prevent Shels from opening up a gap at the top of the 1st Division. Thats as good a reason to exist than any. Respect to the Franchise.

Waterford weren't great last night but still managed a win. Big game next week at the RSC.

Haha no in all fairness we were terrible last night.
But still why do you exist?

Another handy win last night. Mooney is getting better and better. And given that our next 2 games are Galway and harps, that should be another 6 points.

    Still though Mathews OUT!

When are you gonna give your manager a break. He's doing grand. You're a tough taskmaster gimmick.

Why does Pighead exist? The possibilities are endless!

PIghead finally comes back to the football forum. Still so confident about Dundalk winning the league my friend? You weren't around when the going got tough:p

We were piss poor last night. Really missed O'Brien and Flood.

    Oh Pigheads Dundalk............

Not sure that would have made much of a difference to be quite honest, Bisto and O'Brien played in Longford, and we rarely looked like scoring there too. Fair enough we hit the post twice, but beyond that we worked their keeper once - in the last 5 minutes.

Firstly, Keddy has to go. I'm beginning to think Dermo fits him into the team purely for left-hand side corner duties, it's literally the only thing he doesn't consistently make a balls of.

McGill being injured didn't help, if he could have played 90 minutes it would have helped. Rutherford wasn't having a great time out there despite his effort, but it was painfully obvious watching him walking off at half time that he'd been injured (but for how long of the half?).

Alan Murphy looks completely disinterested, long balls when in possession, and no desire to get stuck in when we didn't have possession. His refusal to actually attempt to fulfill the duties of right back nearly cost us on at least one ocassion last night.

Hughes and Freeman have taken some stick, but what are they going to do when the ball is being lumped over their heads? Hughes is one of the shortest players on the pitch, how he was expected to challenge for those balls I'll never know. More importantly, why was he expected to? He can be incredible with the ball at his feet, but no effort was made to build on this.
Freeman has been dangerous because of 2 reasons, picking up on knock downs from Bisto, and being undermarked when Bisto had attracting attention from oppositions back lines, so obviously this wasn't going to happen last night.

Hedderman was atrocious, I'd liked what I'd seen of him till last night!

If it wasn't for Daisy, Keely, and Deano we'd have been hammered.

Conceeded a goal an hour to Rhyl, shocking stuff! :D Wonder if that's the first time an Irish club has gone that close to double figures in a European tie? ;)

Nice result for Bohs. It could have been one of those games where they took their foot off the peddle.

Went to UCD vs Cork last night, and I must say I loved it. Not missing any week of fixtures in EL from now on.

    Good man yourself.

What's the new ground in Belfield like?

A lot nicer than the last time I went there, or should I say played there.;)

Wonder what happened in Rhyl after the game?
Considering all the hype about pubs being closed after it.

Who do they play in the next round?

A Latvia or an Icelandic outfit.

And Hibernian (not the Maltese variety) if they win through that.

Falkyr are 2-1 up after an away win in Latvia so probably Iceland. Second leg tomorrow, the final will be against Hibs or Elfsborg.

Cobh 1 - 3 Sligo. They really are a pity. Sligo were 2 up inside 10 minutes and missed a penalty early on as well.

Cobh will be back where they belong very soon. They will finish with record low points I reckon.

People are saying the 9-3 is a goals-for record for an Irish team in European competition. Anyone care to confirm or scupper?
And yes, we know other teams have had wider margins.

Riga here we come, very tempted to book a flight, really cant afford it tho.

    Deserved win by Sligo.

    Different Class!

Bar, Pat's, the best team this season has been Sligo. They are the barcelona of the west!!!!!

Are the flights expensive to Riga?

€230 return is the cheapest I could find, a good few Bohs fans got them for far less by booking a couple of months ago. 1 week to get flights and accom is going to be pricey.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,103 ✭✭✭estebancambias

That Pat's goal was so good. If the finish was cleaner it would have been spectacular.

And WTF George O'Callaghan didn't he just come back from Ipswich?

Disaster in the league cup tonight - O Heary and Oman both off injured in the first half, hopefully precautionary. And our best run since 1929 came to an end but at least we dont have to play any more games in the league cup. Theres still a chance we wont play a league match this month.
