    howdy all ,looking for some wiring advice. want to install a light in the shed which is about 5 metres from the house. double socket there already, looped off a socket in the kitchen via swa cable .is it ok to take live feed from this? how do i go about it. cheers in advance.:cool:

    you wouldn't normally have your lights and sockets on the same circuit, but yes you can use the socket already in the shed, bring a 2.5 twin and earth from the socket to a switch spur, and out of the spur bring a 1.5 twin and earth into your light, replace the fuse in the switch spur with a 3 amp, so if theres ever a problem it will blow at the spur and not in your fuseboard, the switch spur is also your new light switch.

    Its not a light switch, but you will be able to use it as such
