Just got the news that this evening's race is off. This is due to a poor weather forecast and a small craft warning for the rescue boats. though conditions aren't bad now they're meant to get worse later.

Not looking good for this weekend either, think there's already a small craft warning up to 12 noon tomorrow, most likely will be extended to whole weekend later tonight. Check Eirtel or met irl website, if small craft warning is issued , race will not go ahead.

Presuming the race this coming Saturday (26th July) is going ahead, what's the easiest way to get down to Windsurfer's Pier? Is there parking available?

    Cheers,

    Dave

Best bet is to park in Salthill dart station and walk across bridge. Dont forget that race this sat finishes in south wall so you will need some way to get back to your car!!!

The swim is from Windsurfer's to South Wall?

How far is that? I presume swimmers stash a change of clothes at the finish? Can't imagine I'd feel like walking back home in my togs :P

Race is about 5K, across the bay. finish is about 6/7 miles from start by road so no walking in your togs. Some people usually arrange to drive to south wall before race and leave a car there. Clothes ect are usually transported over by organisers..
