Does anyone know if the bus City Centre to Citywest bus is being terminated with the closure of Circle Line?

Their press release only mentions the "Lucan-Celbridge" and "Nutgrove-City Centre" services.

I'm talking about the one that goes from Westmoreland St about 8am and returns from Citywest at 5.30pm...

    Contact Mortons Coaches on 01 - 4944927 or info@mortonscoaches.ie

You'll get an answer there - there are two services to/from Citywest (one from the city and another from Sydney Parade) and the LUAS/Citywest shuttle.

Whether these are for the chop, I'm afraid I don't know.

I see they are blaming a "continued saturation of our route by a large number of Government funded buses"... but was the service ever used that much?
    NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF SERVICE

    Dear Customer,

It is with sincere regret that we must inform you that the Circle Line service between Lucan-Celbridge and Nutgrove-VIA City Centre, will cease operating from Friday 27th June 2008.

This action is necessitated by the continued saturation of our route by a large number of Government funded buses, the operation of which is being subsidised by the tax payer.

We would like to thank you for your custom over the past number of years which we greatly appreciate.

It is a source of great sadness to us that we cannot continue to serve you, our customers and that our very loyal staff will lose their jobs. The continued financial losses on the route, make it impossible for us to continue operating the service.

Holders of Smart Cards will be refunded the remaining value on their cards by returning them to:

    Circle Line Bus Company Ltd,
    Straffan Road, Maynooth

Morton's a sore loser. It was his very company which objected to Dublin Bus continual attempts to improve services along the Lucan Road, so how can he accuse them of 'saturation'?

    Hypocrite.

Places like Lucan do have a large amount of buses. Celbridge for example gets ridden senseless though. There are tons of buses that go to Lucan and on up to Maynooth that don't go to Celbridge but then the one people have to take to Celbridge also goes through Lucan too making the journey longer and a total pain in the arse. They're a stones throw away from each other and both commuter towns so I don't see why one is neglected over the other.
People who relied on the Mortons service from Celbridge will be screwed big time from this. I only take the bus once or twice a week heading to work having stopped off in the girlfriends and even I found it a bitch.

I didn't say anything specific about Lucan, I said the Lucan Road, meaning all services along the N4 corridor including the 25s, 66s and 67s.

Don't talk about your girlfriend like that. :D
