suppose they are no worse than the u-21's this year, anyway Tipp/Cork have shared the last 15 munster titles between them so tis hardly a big surprise waterford not winning this one?maybe they will ask Justin to take charge next year

No cork player came anywhere near scoring 1-7 from play in this game????

If they treat the minors so badly, this doesn't bode well for the county for the seniors in years to come.Maybe it type of attitude and treatment that has been the obstacle for Waterford taking Liam.Nepotism is everywhere in GAA and sport in general, especially at club level where the foundations of the club are too family orientated.Yes...clubs and teams can be too family orientated.I think it is something to Sports Council should look into.Fair enough, you can have good players making an impact where Daddy is the manager but somehow it must be construed as an abuse of power where that managers son is useless while you have a talented player missing out.

I honestly think Waterford GAA is a joke anyway.Wasn't there a series of strange incidents this year involving the death of a Waterford GAA official. All of this occurred coincidentally when the official in question was in the centre of a Garda investigation with the disappearance of 140,000 from the WCB accounts.

This was all kept quiet and nobody batted an eyelid and not much more was made out of the story. What happened in the end?

I can understand your anger on this but maybe this is not the place to air your views. I just think it is a little bit harsh on the young lad that played centre back.
I have seen this type of thing at club level also and what usually tends to happen is the young player ends up giving up the game.
I honestly don't think one should manage a team if at all possible if a family interest is involved.

I agree this is not the place, not fair on the guy who played centre back, the manager or any of the other players. These are the opinions of the OP and nothing else

OP, like myself you're obviously a passionate deise-ite who always wants to see the county do well, and while that result was not the best, theres a few issues from your post that needs to be addressed.

I don't know what hurling you've been watching but Philip Mahony is easily one of the most promising players in the county. He was co-captain of the De La Salle team that won the All-Ireland Colleges title two years running and in the first match of the final against Thurles CBS he was fantastic. He deserves to be on that starting 15 on the minor team because he's an excellent prospect. Believe me, I know, he's been in some of my classes in DLS the past two years!

The issue of playing Noel Connors out of position to accomodate Philip is pretty rediculous tbh. The two are still playing in the same positions they have played in with DLS the past 2 years.

I know in the future if he makes it onto the senior panel he'll have to get used to critics and the like but the accuse an excellent 16/17 year old hurler on a nationwide forum of only playing thanks to his father being the manager just isn't on tbh

If you have an issue, perhaps talk to the person in question as opposed to putting views on a public forum. Very unfair on the individuals in question, and their families/ girlfriends etc. Please think before you type. I know its easy to partake in terrace talk, but remember these are actual people with actual families, who may actually read these forums !
