I have to do this again:

I am between 2 sets of irons at the moment.

1st: Set of Taylormade RAC HT's 3-SW, Graphite Shafts.
    OR
2nd: Set of Taylormade RAC LT's 4-SW, 5.5 precision rifle shafts with new grips.

I need to make a decision quickish on this one.

I generally don't have trouble getting the ball into the air and distance is no problem at the moment either.
Playing the last 2-3 months. Scores are dropping at a rate of 10 shots in the difference every week. Getting around the 100 mark now.

From my understanding the LT's are like blades but not sure what that means tbh.
THe HT's are there because of the forgivness levels they offer. Hopefully collecting one of these sets before a game at the weekend.

Hts would be my selection. An improving beginner should stick to the forgiving irons! Just an opinion though mate, the decision is ultimately yours

What shafts are best suited to you.

If the shatf don't suit your swing you are wasting your time.

    just my 2cent

Which ones? The ones that you hit the best.

Try before you buy and that way you'll know for sure imo.

I'm gearing towards the HT's alright. I will try both and see what they offer.

sounds like you are buying them cause they are TM and going cheap instead of a club that suits your game.

Whatever you do, just make sure you try them out first. You shouldn't buy golf clubs out of a magazine or on a website, they've got to be the ones you hit and like the feel/look of best.

Would you buy your wedding suit without trying it on first?

I'm speaking from experience. I've lost a good few quid on buying certain clubs because either i like the look of them, they're in fashion or because they are a certain make.

I only end up having to sell them on again and get something else.

I have swung alot of irons over the past few weeks and the TM RAC's are very nice. I settled on either of the above, the HT for the forgivness and the LT I don't really remember why I was going for them but I have a option of trying both tomorrow before I buy and just wondering if anyone could help with which way to lean towards.

Went out and tried a set of Callaway X16's, Ping i3's and some Callaway Blades and the only ones I was hitting consistantly were the blades. 10 out of 10 to exactly where I wanted the ball to land.

Good to see you trying out the clubs.

    blades are less forgiving.

but go with what you feel best

Got myself a shiney set of Taylormade R7's. My iron shot are far better and my pitching is great now.

    Delighted I got them now.
