Hi all, this is my 1st post in this forum so sorry if im asking stupid questions
I've been a fan of MMA for a while , and did some karate and jujitsu before my knees put a stop to this

Anyway i was wondering what are dublin MMA events like, as i hit me recently i'm watching all of this american stuff , surely there is some MMA events here at home.

I saw this one posted somewhere MMA - 28th - Saturday - Ring of Truth - Dublin - Good Counsel GAA Club, Dublin 12

was just wondering what to expect from this and other events like it, in terms of standard / rules etc this place is right under my nose pretty much and i didnt know about the event until i googled

Cage of Truth is 3rd in a series of Irish mma events to be held in a cage. Previously there have been many (about 10 in Dublin, a couple in Galway, and about 20 in Northern Ireland) MMA events in ireland, most of them in a ring but some in a cage. Cage Rage contenders has also been present in Ireland, this a precursor to the biggest European MMA event - Cage Rage.

At the COT you can expect to see a lot of Ireland's up and coming MMA fighters fight under a mixture of rules. From A standard which is basically UFC rules but without elbows on the ground to C standard with withholds all strikes to the head on the ground. You can expect to see some of Ireland's veteran MMA fighters compete on this and similar cards, some Irish fighters have over 20 professional MMA fights.

About standard, it's very tricky to judge. But you will see very entertaining fights with KOs, TKOs, submissions and even the odd judges decision.

If you're a genuine fan of MMA I'd strongly encourage you to drop down and experience MMA live and support Irish talent. The shows are very professionally run and the crowd are often very supportive and very knowledgeable.

Make sure you get down and watch, you've nothing to lose.

All I can tell you is that the handsomest man in Irish MMA is competing.

That, and the tickets are close to almost gone so get one fast!

you can either get them from the martial arts shop on capel street in dublin (8726740), the sbg mma club (0876768911) or from team rhino mma club (0851722790). Might be some tickets on the door but they may sell out (they have done before!). info

I've had to resort to training with a bag over my head so people will hit me. Some people just don't want to ruin a work of art. Mind you once I start talking people seem to want to hit me all the time...:D

OP I think there are very few tickets left if you're interested in going.
